Do curfews keep teens out of trouble?

Throughout CHS students can always be heard complaining about their curfews. Many teens say that curfews are stupid, pointless and never work. Another common complaint is that parents always set curfews too early. Although every teen agrees that curfews aren’t fun, they are a necessary discipline and keep teens out of trouble.
While teenagers believe they are responsible, it is easily shown every weekend that often they are not. Every Monday students are telling stories of trouble they got themselves into since the previous Friday. Parents and guardians were once teenagers themselves, so they know what kind of shenanigans occur. They, just as their parents did to them, enforce curfews to combat dangerous behavior in the late hours of the night.
Parents usually instate curfews in many different ways, depending on their own views of discipline. Some simply have a set curfew, such as midnight, and as long as their son or daughter is home by then everything is golden.
