Many businesses organize their departments into teams, to support one another and complete projects. Consider how these teams work together and what aspects of group communication need to be considered to have successful communication.

Inter-departmental communication is one the most important aspects of any successful company. Having the ability to communicate between departments is incredibly important as well as necessary if a company is supposed to work harmoniously towards a common goal. However, communication between departments is not always as easy as individual communication. This is because group communication must be a representation of the ideas between two groups. This can be difficult as it is necessary for all members of a group to agree on the information that is being passed on, even though they may not fully support it. When there is conflict in communication between two groups in a company, it can be resolved if communications is assigned between two individuals from each group. Each representative can gather the information being passed on from each side and relay that information at a later time to their own group. In this setting, the groups can meet and discuss the information and make suggestions or make ideas known to resolve the issues. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and common courtesy can help maintain good communication between two groups. Knowing that achieving the bigger picture is more important than splitting hairs amongst two groups can ensure the ultimate success of the company.
