After reading the article “Some Moral Minima” by Lenn Goodman, I must admit that I agree that there are certain things that are flat line wrong. Living in today’s society with so many different cultures, religious and political beliefs we are bound to view some aspects of life differently. I must say however, some should never fall in that category.
Genocide seeks to destroy a race, a culture even a class. Slavery allows one man to imprison another man that is his equal, to a life he doesn’t choose. In that case thousands of people would lose their lives and the human race would soon no longer exist.
Another example Goodman talks about that I stand against is Rape. Being forced to engage in any sexual act against your will is wrong. Regardless if a woman flaunts her body seductively some might say “she was just asking for it,” or it seem like an open invitation, but it wasn’t. Although I have never witness this first hand, I have been the shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen to cries that would never end. One night my friends and I went to a party just to have fun but we never expected for it to be a life changing experience. My friend wore an outfit that any typical “rebel” teen would wear and she had the attitude to match. She started dancing with this guy at the party when all of a sudden her head started to pound and the room...
